2nd PART

"ROADS FOR THE AUTO EQUILIBRIUM"

CHAPTER I

"Psycho Cybernetic"

The man's internal structure presented by Psycho Cybernetic is the one that explains better the possibilities that we have for auto transformation. It is with base in her that we will understand the efficiency of the methods of psychic equilibrium.

From the humanity's origins that the man is trying to discover how it is that the thought works, how it is that the ideas are formulated, but, until today, nor the philosophy, nor the science got to answer to Aristotle's question, formulated there is more of 2.000 years. "How is it that the soul links to the body?"

Paul Chauchard, French, neuro-physiology and psychologist, director of "Ecole of Hautes Etudes", in the century XX, made the following affirmative, showing the ignorance of the science in this section: "There are aspects of the mechanism "psycho physiologic" still no well elucidated, so the psychologist has to give place to the philosopher. The ones that we know are only cerebral mechanisms that are to service of the conscience. About the nature of that conscience, we are reduced to hypotheses. For the materialists, she is a property of the cerebral matter, for the spiritualists, she depends on the presence of an immaterial principle called soul, or spirit."

Any medicine student perfectly knows that the science, now, doesn't get to explain the operation of the conscience. In the school summaries, the brain definition is still the cellular group where is born the conscience of himself, in other words, where are born the facts of the mind, of the will, of the desires and of the sensibility.

The old philosophers belonged to a school that could be called psycho-centric. They didn't make a lot of difference between soul and spirit, but in that relationship among the imponderable and the body, the cause of the phenomena was attributed to the imponderable part.

The Egyptians, the Hebrews, the Greeks located the soul in the diaphragm, because of the emotional disturbances reach the solar plexus, altering the digestion, the breathing, the heart.

In 1.610, Descartes say that the soul locates in the epiphysis, in other words, in the gland pineal.

In the beginning of last century, with Augusto Comte (1.798-1.857), the philosophical school of the positivism  appears which passes to seek the laws that govern the phenomena and no more the causes that unchained them.

Only in 1.869, Claude Bernard reached the conclusion that the brain was the organ of the intelligence.

In 1.870, during the Franco-Prussian revolution, when Napoleon III loses for the Germans in Sedan, with base in Claude Bernard's affirmatives, two soldiers, medicine students, Fritch and Hitzig, began making experiences in the wounded soldiers' brains in the battlefields. They applied a galvanic pile and they verified movements distant of her. The pile had been discovered in the year of 1.790 by Luigi Galvani.

When making those experiences, with whole care for not being surprised and badly interpreted, they didn't imagine that they were leading off an important school that lasts long until today - the mechanistic school. The positivism active at that time, influenced a lot on the thought of that school, saying mat, the whole game of the personality would be resulting from mechanical reactions, of nature electromagnetic or biochemistries.

Then there begins the cerebral locations that in fact exist and they are scientifically proven. According to the theosophy, those locations are as the paving stones of a bridge that communicates the psyche and the spirit with the conscious plan. The lesion disables the individual's capacity because it interrupts the communication bridge, but the potential that is above of the bridge continues complete, lacking to her just an expression form. This the materialistic science ignores. These partisans of the brain-centrism avoid explaining phenomena as the parapsychology or metaphysic, such as telepathy, telekinesis, premonition, verified phenomena, undeniable, because they are not framed in the laws and mechanisms up to now discovered for the cerebral operation.

On these last years, after second great war, there appeared inside of the psychology several lines, which, with the same approach, are trying to explain the operation of our psychic life - power of the positive thought, mental power, mental control, auto-hypnosis, autogene training, autosuggestion, sofrology etc. With Maxwell Maltz, that publishes his book in 1.972, appears the Psycho Cybernetic that gives scientific basis for all those lines.

Psycho Cybernetic reached to the conclusion that the man's mind possesses two plans, two activity spheres.

A plan called conscious or rational, objective that approaches Freud's Ego. It is that area of the mind that chooses, that makes options, that gives us the identity sensation.

This part learns through the senses and, for structuring, it is linked to the nervous system of the relationship life.

The other plan receives the name of unconscious, but, in its concept, nothing has to do with Freud's unconscious. This plan also receives the designation of subconscious. It is the subjective part, the one that doesn't ratiocinate, that part that contains all that is besides of what we are aware. It doesn't have any capacity of conscious decision, but is extremely wise because it takes to work vital parts of our organism, as digestion, breathing etc., because it is linked to the autonomous nervous system that controls the whole organic metabolism.

The "Psycho Cybernetic" says that in this layer, the one of the unconscious, are located the emotions, the intuition and the phenomena parapsychologics. This concept of unconscious is adjusted to the one of the Theosophy. Putting the intuition and the extrasensory perceptions there, the doors open up for all of the human being's transcendental possibilities, establishing the connection that lacked between the science and the Theosophy, in other words, between the science and the occultism. In the cybernetic unconscious we can add, without hurting the scientific outline, the man's Superior Conscience that, according to the Theosophy, is a particle of the Divinity. The degree of conscience of each one is, therefore, exactly the one that the individual, through his internal organization, gets to let to appear in his conscious life the values of that internal God. The heart, the nucleus of the Superior Conscience is the same for all, but, in spite of containing all the wisdom, it cannot interfere in the conscious life of the man, because this needs to be driven by the free will of each one. The unconscious passes the data in a neutral way, when requested by the conscious, but it is the conscious that elaborates the reaction.

In my book "The Man and the Universe" present very detailed information on the constitution of man and on their internal dynamics.

The science is already observing that our strip rational, conscious, entirely intellectual, in spite of dominating the logic entirely, suffers once in a while the influence of another strip of our personality, another section, which waives with intuitive and intelligent data. The Dr. J. B. Rhine, boss of the laboratory of parapsychology of the University of Duke, proved, in concrete experiences, that the man has access to knowledge, to facts and to ideas besides the ones that his memory accumulated during the existence, as well as through studies. The telepathy, the clairvoyance and the premonition were all proven in scientific experiences. Dr. Rhine assures that a capacity exists of acquiring knowledge that transcends the sensorial functions.

Sir Oliver Lodge (1.851-1.940), English physicist, affirms: "The studies parapsychologists prove that the man's conscience is larger than the one of the brain alone."

John Flavell, author of the book "The psychology of the development", affirms: "But a characteristic of the intelligence is the one that she transcends their own limitations - we met lengths of waves never seen, we couched hypothesis of space dimensions that we never experienced. We inherited as biological anlagen something besides the limitations. As complement of the innate structures there exists something that stays besides the intellectual accomplishment."

The operation of these two plans of the mind has been unmasked through the studies on the hypnosis. The experiences prove that the mind unconscious, or subconscious, as it is also known, simply accepts all that in what the conscious believes. She doesn't analyze, doesn't compare, doesn't question, doesn't argue, that are phases of the reasoning. She doesn't worry in demonstrating if the thoughts are good or bad, true or false. She is limited to react in agreement with the thoughts and the ideas that are impinged by the conscious plan. If it be suggested to an individual hypnotized that he is Napoleon, he will assume the Napoleonic posture immediately; that the temperature is below zero, the tremors appear; that he has fever, he blushes and presents all of the symptoms.

The mechanism is the following: all the ideas presented, or lived by the conscious; they are recorded in the subconscious. It is impossible to turn off the past.

In 1.951, a neurosurgeon of Montreal, Dr. Penfield, decided to do experiences in the people's brain that he needed to operate and he verified that, putting electrodes in the form of very fine stylets, according to the touched cell, the patient evoked events that were vividly registered in her, with the same intensity of the moment in what they had been lived. Not only mental memory as well as the emotional experience, clears, without confusion, without mixture.

It was verified, through countless experiences, that everything is registered in the brain, in the nervous tissue and, in an unconscious way, it starts to influence in the conscious behavior, since the moment in that scenes or similar sensations, provoke the revive of those events of the past and that are registered.

The experiences are recorded in the neurons, in a spontaneous way, until the 5 years of age. What comes after the 5 years goes already being distorted by the influence of those previous recordings. Those data engraved will constitute in the basic elements of our internal nature, and they will influence on future decisions of the conscious, because the subconscious mind operates for association of ideas, just like a computer, reason of this line of the psychology to be called Psycho cybernetic. The computer, however, is limited to his programming, but the associations and deductions of the mind are much wider, they have infinite possibilities.

Before any incentive, or suggestion, the subconscious begins shuffling the computer in search of same type's ideas and it uses any knowledge fragment that he has gathered until that moment, it joins everything and it presents those elements for the conscious to make their decisions. He wants that the conscious reach his objective.

The important point is that the unconscious mind, when receiving an idea, be her good or bad, he simply begins to apply it.

Seemingly, it is the conscious that commands our actions, but, actually, it is the unconscious that influences our reactions, which will be resulting of the computed data. The conscious needs to learn how to command, so, the responsibility of passing the data by the bolter of the reason. Only like this the conscious will turn master and not slave of their reactions.

If the subconscious accepts the information of the conscious, we can imagine what weigh negative, what accumulation of negative suggestions forms the base of our unconscious. Not only for thoughts generated by ourselves because of our own interior mechanism, but as well as for the insufflations of so common negative suggestions in our familiar and social life: "Don't make that!", "Care that you fall", "Soldier pick you up", "Everything is lost", "The world is worse and worse", "We cannot trust in more nobody anymore!" And this, besides the news of TV, that specialize in the exploration of the sensational negative.

Although all those suggestions are up to certain point true, they are constituted in negative weight by the repetition and by the one point of view. We only observe the negative, because the actions and events positive, harmonic, pass unnoticed.

Knowing that internal outline and that we have a mechanism that works for us, we can, in a conscious way, to re-do the cards of our computer.

That is only possible through the power of the thought.

Several techniques exist, among them, the one of the Autogene Training of the Dr. Schultz, that is the technique of the autosuggestion, and that we are going to approach in the next chapter.
