"Symbolic initiation and real initiation"
Zélia de Toledo Piza
Initiation means to give beginning to some thing. In the esoteric sense it is to give beginning to the self-realization.
The initiation has been used through the times; in Egypt, for the hierophants, in the Indian, for Rishis or wise persons of the antiquity, in Tibet, for the Muds, in schools in Asia Minor, in Europe...
The objective was always to prepare the candidate, word that comes from "candidus - white - candidum - adjective = sincere, franc, pure", the one who undresses of every pre-conceived idea. The idea is to begin a new life that passes to be molded by the universal laws.
Symbolic initiation is to acquire the knowledge of the truths through the revelations, be inside of a school of initiation, or be out of it and not to apply anything in the daily existence. The esoterism has many symbols, and the mysteries are presented through them, as for instance:
and many others...
Symbolic initiation is to know those symbols in his external aspect, without penetrating in the heart of his meaning and without transforming his transcendent sense in existence.
The person can have an immense stock of data, of esoteric information; you can even put into practice the presented processes, like Yogas, to intone mantras and to be making a symbolic initiation, because you will be accomplishing everything in a mechanical way, decorated, without involvement, without perception of the depth of the teachings.
The initiation begins to be real when the individual begins to feel inside of himself changes of parameters for knowledge regarding the world inside of which he lives, regarding the situations in which she is involved. The initiation begins to be real when he begins perceiving the purpose of the life on the face of the earth; when he looks back and it would not like to be again as it was before.
The road of the real initiation has 7 stages, which involve control physical, emotional and mental.
The man's esoteric constitution is detailed in the book "The Man and the Universe."
The real initiation has for objective to organize the man's several vehicles to reestablish the connection with the Superior Conscience.
This encounter with the Superior Conscience is an imperative of the human soul. An interior demand exists for the search of something superior, which is why, from the origins, the humanity looks for God in the most varied ways. It is then that there appeared all the religions. Only that the man looks for outside, what should seek inside. He sticks to beings and starts to adore them and to wait of them the approval of the salvation and he forgets that each one has to establish his fight to arrive to the fullness of his Superior Conscience.
The road for the self-realization comes from the most remote antiquity. It appears in the Ban, book of the Hindu tradition, and it is synthesized in Yoga of Patanjali, that presents, in full detail an organization of the internal process.
The process of Yoga of Patanjali is detailed in the book "Personal Equilibrium."
The secret of the real initiation is in working the interior life, in developing our inferior bodies jointly - physical, emotional and mental. Evolution implicates in change, in dissatisfaction until we reach the goal of the perfection.
From the time of that millenarian tradition to the days of today, from times to times, great Beings have been appearing, like Krishna, Budha, Christ, Mohammed and other, trying to always present a road for that accomplishment. All show the same fundamental truths. The divergence among the religions happens because, in each historical cycle of the humanity, it appears one of these beings that bring a tonic of the primordial knowledge, a certain knowledge level, and a technique of appropriate accomplishment to the humanity's understanding on that moment. Those beings, according to the school of initiation from the ages, are always the same Conscience. It happens that this Conscience needs a physical that has the characteristics of the people that inhabits the area where she will show and, for that, that Conscience needs to inhabit a human body. If, though, we analyze what those great Beings said, we will see that they are always saying the same thing, just with words and with different symbols.
For instance, the divine trinity is presented in all of the religions and traditions - Father, Mother, and Son. In the Christianity: Father, Son and Spirit Saint; among the Hebrews: Kether, Cochmah, Binah; among the Hindus: Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva; among the Egyptians: Osiris, Isis and Horus; among our Brazilian's aborigines: Tupã, Cecy, Coracy. All of them propose the choice of a fair road, of a honest road; all propose the comprehension and the understanding among the men.
The one that differentiates is the interpretation of the truth; each group limits, it bounds the truth and form dogmas that are linked to the being that brought the teachings and from there the Buddhism, the Confucianism, Islamism, the Christianity. But the Beings never founded the religion. They always come with the purpose of reviving in the men's mind the same truth, because the man tends to forget the basic principles.
It is for this reason that we should accept all of the religions, because all of them bring in his heart the same primordial truths. The person needs to try to separate the true revelation of the interpretations given by the men and, on that way, to pass to understand his own religion better, be which it is, starting to practice her in his true and deeper sense.
If we analyze, all of them present roads for the internal accomplishment of the man, roads that involve the mind, the heart and the action. It is in the soul, and in the action inside of the physical world, that the man's evolution is processed.
But what has happened with the passing of the times?
For the difficulty that the man has to unmask his own interior, the psychological science went on walking through the materialism, whose representation more systematized is the behaviorism. The behaviorism abandons the introspective method and he bases on the nervous physiology, in the behavior, in the physical reactions.
They don't refuse the objective facts and the importance of observing them, but it is simply affirmed that the phenomena objectives are reflexes of the phenomena of psychic order and of spiritual.
If on one side the emotional states provoke physiologic reactions and vice-versa, on the other hand we have the fact that the description of the physiologic reactions doesn't explain the psychic phenomena. It is perfectly possible to describe and to explain the material mechanism of the sensations, but with this the same sensation is not illuminating. The experimental psychology is in charge essentially with the behavior, with the physical reactions, anything being fast regarding the knowledge of the processes conscious of the emotions, of the thought and of other high faculties. Each person reacts in a different way before a same incentive; this because his internal stock is different, the stock related to the conscience, such as sensibility, feeling, emotions, moral values, intelligence. All of them are particular to each one.
The external knowledge is made by the five senses and they are susceptible to be observed and measured. The knowledge of subjective facts is made only by the introspection. There exist lines of the psychology that extol the internalization - Yung, Transpessoal, the Analysis Transactional, Gestalt etc.
The purpose of a self-realization work is the one of discovering processes to aid that internal transformation of the man.
The foundation of any transformation is the work of the elements of the soul - mind and emotion conjugated with the strong scale that is the Will.
The man, in the current apprenticeship of our evolution, is impelled to the action motivated by his emotion. The man looks for an immediate pleasure, but, not always that pleasure agrees with that which would be exactly to do in a certain situation.
The objective is to develop the degree of conscience of each one, enlarging his capacity of discernment more and more and, therefore, his capacity to distinguish the right of the wrong. Distinguishing the right of the wrong, the person should start to act in agreement with those certain at the cost of the strength of his will, even if there is not an immediate pleasure.
Little by little, the man goes on enlarging his degree of conscience, in other words, he goes on leaving the Superior Conscience to act through his soul, until that, one day, when he will be equaled to his own Conscience, and in other words, it will be equaled to God, because he dominates all of the Universal Laws.
